Are you a nursing student who has already completed some training and want to get a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual support qualification to work while studying?
Do you have international qualifications in healthcare not recognised in Australia (e.g. nursing) but still have a lot of experience and would like to obtain a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support qualification? If so then please use the application process through the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) to assess your overseas qualifications through the Overseas Qualification Unit (OQU). They will assess your qualification gained overseas to determine their comparability with Australian standards. This is a free service available only to Western Australian residents through Overseas Qualification Unit
Flex Training Services offers recognition of prior learning (RPL) to assist you to gain a Nationally Accredited Qualification. By undertaking our RPL you can gain a Nationally Accredited Qualification whilst still working and earning and income. To be eligible for RPL you must have previous experience or training in the healthcare/aged care industry, be on an approved visa (not student visa) and hold/obtain a clear National Police Clearance.
Through our RPL system, your qualifications and evidence will be assessed, gap training and assessment will be provided as well as work experience (if you are unable to prove minimum of 120 hours of work experience and if evidence of practical skills are unable to be obtained through your employer). Our trainers and assessors will evaluate your evidence and provide you with an individual learning and assessment plan which may or may not include work experience. Work experience is a great opportunity to further develop your skills and may lead to employment with the work experience host organisation.
CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. This qualification is available in the three streams of ageing, home and community care and disability.

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to carry out activities to assist residential aged care clients to live a full and meaningful life. Students learn about healthy body systems, assisting with personal care, assist clients with their mobility needs, manual handling, identify, report and complete documentation, legal and ethical issues, empowerment of the older person, facilitating responsible behaviour, dementia care, palliative care, dysphagia and much more.
CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community Care)
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to further assist clients in their everyday lives within a home and community setting enabling them to carry out activities to keep the person healthy and at home. Students learn about healthy body systems, assisting with personal care in the home, assist clients with their mobility needs/manual handling in the home, identify, report and complete documentation, legal and ethical issues, empowerment of the older person and people with disability, medication prompt and assist and much more.
CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to further assist clients with a disability in their everyday lives enabling them to empower the individual and assist them to deliver care and promote independence. Students learn about healthy body systems, assisting a person with disability with personal care, assist clients with their mobility needs/manual handling in the home, identify, report and complete documentation, legal and ethical issues, empowerment of people with disability, promoting independence using strengths-based approach and person-centred care and behaviour supports and much more.
CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to assist the elderly in their everyday lives. This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential and aged care environments. The Student will be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the supervision and /or coordination of the quality of outputs of other workers within limited parameters. The Student will be gaining knowledge and skills to enable them to implement interventions for clients at risk of falls, facilitation and review of individual service planning and delivery, facilitate links with other services, provide services to older people with complex needs and coordinate information systems.
